TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iran defeated Singapore 14-7 in the 2025 Asian Water Polo Championship on Friday and advanced to the semifinals.

Team Melli had defeated South Korea 19-6, Chinese Taipei 37-5, Uzbekistan 33-9 and lost to Japan 16-13 in Group B.

Team Melli will play China on Saturday.

The competition started on Tuesday and will run until March 2 in Zhaoqing, China.

The top two teams will secure their berth in the 2025 World Aquatics Championships.
