Singapore reports 3,454 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 3,454 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total tally to 1,900,761.

Of the new cases, 356 cases were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 3,098 through ART (antigen rapid test) tests, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 332 were local transmissions and 24 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 2,882 local transmissions and 216 imported cases.

A total of 246 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with six cases in intensive care units.

No more death was reported from COVID-19 on Wednesday, keeping the total death toll unchanged at 1,617, the ministry said.
