Singapore reports 945 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 945 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total tally in the country to 290,030.

Of the new cases, 582 were local cases and 363 were imported cases, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health.

Among past reported cases, 832 Omicron cases were confirmed on Friday, of which 543 were local and 289 were imported, the ministry said.

A total of 185 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with eight cases requiring oxygen supplementation and 11 cases being in the intensive care unit.

One more patient has passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection, bringing the death toll to 840, the ministry said.
