Singapore reports 1,443 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 1,443 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total tally in the country to 85,953.

Of the new cases, 1,053 were in the community, 371 in migrant worker dormitories and 19 were imported cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a press release.

A total of 1,142 COVID-19 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 165 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 27 in critical condition in the intensive care units, said the MOH.

As of Friday, 82 percent of the local population has been fully vaccinated, and 84 percent has received at least one dose, according to the ministry.
